Shoshanna R. Schechter, MA, Ed.D (ABD)
Educational Leader | Youth Mental Health Advocate | Inclusion & Neurodiversity Specialist
Shoshanna R. Schechter is an educator, mental health advocate, and inclusion specialist with over 20 years of experience transforming education and supporting student success. With a background spanning higher education, K-12 instruction, special education, college counseling, and youth mental health, she is dedicated to creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments where every individual thrives.
Education & Leadership
Shoshanna has spent over a decade in higher education instruction and administration, teaching and advising students at Randolph-Macon College, Virginia Commonwealth University, and The University of Texas at El Paso. Her expertise spans Humanities, Religious Studies, Gender Studies, and Student Success, and she has also served as an academic advisor, student life professional, and admissions specialist.
Since returning to the Washington, DC metro area in 2019, Shoshanna has expanded her impact into K-12 special education, literacy intervention, and youth rehabilitation, working with Montgomery County Public Schools and the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. Her work focuses on educational equity, executive functioning coaching, and special education case management.
Youth Mental Health & Neurodiversity Advocacy
As a 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline supervisor, Shoshanna plays a critical role in supporting individuals in crisis and training professionals in mental health intervention. She specializes in working with neurodivergent students (including those with ASD, ADHD, ED, ODD, and GTLD) and is deeply committed to helping students understand their strengths, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Schechter Education’s 6-Month Executive Functioning Skills Building Program empowers high school students to develop essential life skills that enhance their academic and personal success. This program focuses on cultivating accountability, work completion, self-advocacy, organization, large project management, and effective study habits.
Through consistent check-ins and actionable strategies, students gain tools to better manage their responsibilities, advocate for their needs, and build confidence in their abilities.

Midpoint Evaluation (Week 12):
