Shoshanna has served in higher education instruction and administration for over a decade, teaching and advising at Randolph-Macon College, Virginia Commonwealth University, and The University of Texas at El Paso. Her expertise covers Humanities, Religious Studies, Gender Studies, and Student Success. Beyond the classroom, she has worked as an academic advisor, student life professional, and admissions specialist.
Since returning to the Washington, DC metro area in 2019, she has expanded her impact into K–12 special education and literacy intervention. She currently serves as a Special Education Teacher with DC Public Schools (DCPS), where she leads a self-contained BES (Behavior & Emotional Support) classroom. In this role, she focuses on academic growth, emotional regulation, and behavior intervention strategies designed to help students access rigorous learning. She has also worked with Montgomery County Public Schools and the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services, emphasizing educational equity, executive functioning coaching, and special education case management.
As a 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline supervisor, Shoshanna supports individuals in crisis and trains professionals in evidence-based intervention practices.
